I have been DJ`ing in and around venues in Brighton and then all around Sussex since 1991. It all started in Swift`s Bar, West Street Brighton to be exact and is all the fault of Rich `D` & Lee Jay! Lee Jay can be found here too!
On this Journey I have met many good people and acquired a massive music collection along the way. Music .........it`s addictive you know!
I moved to the Crawley area in 2007, then ventured into local radio around 2008. Through this I have been introduced to many different music genres and radio production styles and training. Seeing good Local Radio practically vanish, wanting to do something local and do things differently to the clones the idea of Radio Crawsham was born!
After much work, now approaching 18 months, along with a few others you will find on this page we have finally got there!
So what`s the plan?
On Radio Crawsham, I will be delving into my vast indie collection playing the new and old with `the Radio Crawsham Afternoon X Show`. Trying the `something different` bit I will be bringing you `Radio Crawsham Sunrise` every morning with 3 hours of chilled and ambient tunes to start your day right! Staying true to my DJ`ing roots you will also find me on `the Radio Crawsham `Friday Dance Zone` with my good pal and fellow Radio Crawsham co founder the legendary Jason Gray. Here we will be digging around our record boxes playing the best Dance Anthems, with classics that take you right back to those days as well as finding out the new ones making new memories for us all today.
So buckle up and lets see what this thing can do! Ashley

I first got into Radio and Dj’d to a massive audience consisting of my parents and a School Friend when I was 13 using a Matsui MIDI Hi Fi! Since then I’ve been lucky enough to do it properly starting in 1995 on Radio Cracker and HLR in Hastings. After Moving onto the Club Scene having a residency in Eastbourne, I continued on local radio up until a few years back when there just wasn’t enough hours on the day to continue.
Happy to say I’m back, have helped co found the station and hopefully back with a bang! Here on Radio Crawsham you will catch me on `Weekday Breakfast` through to `Mid Morning` and then banging out those Dance Anthems with Ashley Waite on the `Friday Night Session`

Influenced by the Mega Sound systems of legendary DJ`s Emperor Rosko and Froggy, the Rich Edwards Roadshow became much in demand for it’s power and clean loud sound and with it the first pair of Technics SL1200`s in the local area! I worked at all the nightclubs in the local area and far beyond including the Roundabout where the Monday Night Jazz-Funk night played host to legendary DJ`s from the North of England as well as many of the Funk Mafia regular team members.Playing Jazz-Funk Clubs and All-Dayers throughout the UK, including the Blackpool Mecca and The National Funk Day and working live with the bands of the era including `The Players Association/Mass Production/ Shakatak / Bobby Thurston/ Sylvester/ Light Of The World/ The Real Thing/ Womack & Womack/Brass Construction` and many more. The Roadshow led to regular supporting appearances for Radio stations in the UK and a summer Season as The Radio Luxembourg Roadshow – working closely with commercial radio stations led to a full time career of over 30 years as presenter/ program director / specialist show presenter at numerous UK stations including Radio Wyvern /Aston FM/ Big City Radio/Classic Gold/ Classic Hits among others.Radio shows included ‘The Dance Factory” a ground breaking dance music radio show with a national reputation. SmoothGrooves continues to spread the word about great music.
Jeff started taking a real interest in music from an early age. He became interested in DJing when his brother teamed up with a friend and used to do the clubs and pubs in the mid-70s.
He developed a love of independent music in the 80s initially. By then he was fed up with listening to the same top 10 songs played ad nauseum and started looking at alternatives.
He believes there is a significant number of like-minded listeners who also want something different. Hence the A & R Show, Album tracks and rarities, the kind of thing you don`t normally hear on mainstream radio. Having been an avid listener to an online station for a few years, he approached the owner about doing a one-off special. It was well-received, and as a result he was offered a weekly slot. The rest as they say is history. He now presents for a number stations in the UK, America and Europe. He really enjoys preparing and recording his show, as it really gets him thinking about what to play, and when. Off-air he enjoys the
theatre, both on- and back-stage, and seeing local bands play.
The Deuce Show is a one hour show presented by Matt Barker. The show features the very best in new and independent music from around the world and puts a spotlight on these great up and coming artists.
Further information on the Deuce Show and the all the artists that featured in the shows can be found at www.deucemusic.com

Lockdown brought a lot of sad times, but also brought a lot of us all closer together. Many moons ago when I was a lot younger I used to work with a man that did mobile disco's. So as you do when you are young, I popped along and was hooked straight away. So I jumped onto the bandwagon and got involved hands on, how all the gear worked etc etc
Did that for many years then got into the pub and club circuit. However after getting married the years slipped by I did not carry on with this hobby for many years. Then we had LOCKDOWN so I started doing sets online, Instagram & Facebook etc which rekindled my passion. I then got in touch with my old boss who runs a local community radio station. After a few beers I talked him into giving me a regular show.
Then came along another station - So as you can guess things have taken off very well so I have put together "That 90's & 00's Show" now broadcasting here on Radio Crawsham & numerous radio stations around the world

I’ve always been into music especially the Glam rock era. The icing on the cake was when l roadied for a Glam tour many moons ago.
Since about 1979 l have worked on hospital radio, done the pubs & clubs scene for far too many years. Mobile work all over Sussex/Surrey.
The past 20 years on internet radio and FM here and abroad.
Got to know some fab people both famous and not so famous.
To say I’m only into rock music is not the case. It is my favourite but I’ll listen to anything. Let’s just keep music proper!
Born in 1960, I have a passion for Reggae Music, which I guess came to light in the early 70's hearing artists like The Pioneers/ Bob & Marcia /Jimmy Cliff/ Desmond Dekker/ Dave & Ansel Collins being played on the UK'S singles charts. Also at the time I worked on a factory production line where everyday music was piped through the works Tannoy system including Reggae/ Soca / Calypso music. Around this time, my older Jamaican friend Michael Alphonso Smith asked if I wanted to join him in a venture doing mobile discos! He had the equipment and I had the transport. But all was not as it had seemed as it turned out we only did private Jamaican House Parties. This is where I learnt how to DJ from a master.
Eventually I started my own mobile disco and gained a residency at my local working mans club in Penge, South London getting the crowds dancing before, during and after the live bands who played at the weekends. Late in the 80's I packed it in and it was not until moving to Lincoln and joining the works Welfare Committee that I then provided the music at work related events. In 2012, I joined my local Community Radio Station and presented a 3 hour live 70's show. In 2018, I changed It to being a Reggae Show. In 2019 work commitments prevented me presenting it as a the live show and the station did not want a pre recorded show to Air.
Then out the blue I was contacted by an Internet Radio Station, by a previous presenter at the station who had left as well, and recommended my show. I joined and within a year I was on 25 stations being broadcasted in Africa, America, Amsterdam, Australia, Cambodia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, Spain, South America. and listened to all around the world.
I have been into reggae, ska, and northern soul music since around 1976. Like a lot of others, I really enjoyed the mod revival and two tone years. I learnt a lot from the older lads at local youth clubs and events. Very soon I started collecting records and then DJ`ing all over the South of England. My love for reggae and ska music plus northern soul never changed. I continued collecting and bought my first DJ set up. Promoting events soon followed, as did the distance to events to get my fix of the music I love!
I have DJ`d all over the UK and have done a few spots in Spain as well.
For me radio presenting was a natural progression and extension to share and hear my favourite genres of music
